J. Barbosa Oliveira Jr, commonly known as Barbosa, has served in Southern Africa for the last 21 years with One Challenge International. He served 6 years in Swaziland, 7 years in South Africa and 8 years in Mozambique. In the last 13 months he is settling in South Africa.
Since October last year he serves as the Africa Area Director, overseeing the work of OC in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Since 2006 he has been MANI Coordinator for the Portuguese speaking countries of Africa. MANI is an African movement committed to catalyzing the Body of Christ in Africa – its churches, organizations and individuals – to strategically fulfill the Great Commission. He is involved in empowering leaders on the continent and works for community transformation. He is also an ordained Presbyterian Pastor with the Presbyterian Church of Brazil.
Barbosa is married to Sinara and has two children, Rafael (9 years old) and Marcela (2 years old) and they reside in Johannesburg.
