Children in Missions Network

Empowering children to take their place in reaching the least-reached.

The Children in Missions Network (CIMN) is a strategic network of MANI. CIMN is convinced that the Great Commission is a command given to all followers of Jesus Christ, young and old — and that children have a strategic role in finishing the task of reaching the remaining least-reached peoples.

Mission and objectives

  • Encourage and empower children in missions by mobilising them to play a significant role in reaching the least-evangelised peoples and nations worldwide.
  • Advocate for the inclusion of children in the development and implementation of national strategies for saturation church planting and transformation.
  • Develop partnerships with existing children’s ministry networks in Africa, helping children discover their role in God’s missional purpose.
  • Encourage MANI’s other networks, including the Country Assessment Process, and national initiatives to include the voices and participation of children.

Why mobilise children?

Children are the largest people group in the world, with strategic potential the Church has largely left untapped. Africa has the youngest population on earth, and by 2100 almost half of the world’s children under 18 will be African. Children are not only the future of the Church — they are the now.

“Every major movement in history has grasped the need to target the next generation in order to advance its agenda and secure its legacy into the future.” — Wess Stafford

Children across history

Children and teens have always been part of the harvest force God uses — the young servant girl who pointed Naaman to the prophet (2 Kings 5), Samuel serving the Lord as a boy (1 Samuel 2), and Daniel and his friends prepared from youth.
