Dean Carlson

ADVISORY TEAM >>> Dean Carlson is the President of One Challenge (OC) and serves on the Guidance Team of the OC Global Alliance. In these roles, he facilitates the ministries impacting 102 nations and builds collaboration between organizations and networks for the discipling of nations.
Dean has worked with MANI since its launch at the 2001 Africa Millennial Consultation. He assisted with MANI 2006 (Kenya), MANI Southern Africa 2008 and MANI 2011 (Nigeria). He served as the MANI Southern Africa Regional Coordinator from 2005-2008. He currently serves as a global advocate on the MANI Continental Team and encourages connection between MANI and mission mobilization networks in other world regions.
During 20 years of residential ministry in Southern Africa, Dean & the OC Africa team worked with national leaders to build strategic initiatives across the region, such as the Zimbabwe National Evangelism Task, the Swaziland Evangelism Task, and the Church Planting Alliance of South Africa
In 2003, he earned a D.Min. in Global Ministries from Fuller School of Intercultural Studies and wrote a dissertation on the impact of saturation church planting on the discipling of Zimbabwe. In 2011, he helped to convene Closing the Gap, a global gathering of leaders from 80 organizations/networks focused on partnering for strategic church planting. He is involved in global networks including the Global Church Planting Network, WEA Mission Commission, the Lausanne Movement and Ethne-to-Ethne.
Dean’s passion is to develop, connect and mobilize leaders to multiply transformational churches among least-reached peoples and places worldwide. He believes deeply in God’s purpose to bless the nations through the Church in Africa. He has been married to his wife Kathie for 33 years and ministers globally from his home in Colorado Springs.
