Anglophone West Africa 2
Nigeria — Africa’s largest sending base.
Nigeria is home to some of Africa’s strongest missionary-sending movements, and has hosted MANI at critical moments, including the 2011 consultation in Abuja and the 2019 African Congress on Discipleship at Redemption Camp.
National initiatives
- The Nigeria Finish-the-Task Network (FinTask), launched in the late 1980s, mobilised the Church for mission, multiplied churches across the country and sent a significant number of Nigerian missionaries to the least-evangelised peoples.
- New Life For All, one of the earliest saturation-evangelism movements in Africa, began on the central plateau of Nigeria in the mid-1960s.
- Sending hubs in Lagos, Jos, Ibadan and Owerri are named in the Abidjan Declaration.
Regional consultations
