Your privacy

Privacy policy

How the MANI website handles your personal information.

This policy explains what personal information the Movement for African National Initiatives (MANI) collects through this website, why, who sees it and what choices you have. We keep it short and plain on purpose.

Who is responsible

The website is run by the MANI Continental Office. For anything in this policy, write to info@maniafrica.com.

What we collect, and why

  • Contact form: your name, email address, subject, preferred language and message, so that we can reply.
  • Newsletter: your first name, email address and preferred language, so that we can send you news and prayer points. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • Prayer requests: your name and the request you write, so that the MANI team can pray with you. Please do not include sensitive details about other people.
  • Event registration: your name, email address, organisation or church, country and any note you add, so that we can organise the event and send you a confirmation.
  • Security and spam protection: when you send a form we store a shortened version of your IP address (the last part removed) with the message, and a temporary counter limits repeated submissions for about ten minutes.

We do not run advertising or tracking scripts, and we do not use the information for anything unrelated to the reason you gave it.

Cookies

This website does not set tracking or advertising cookies. A language preference cookie may be stored if you switch language. Staff who log in to manage the site receive standard login cookies. Your browser lets you block or delete cookies at any time.

Other services you may meet on the site

  • Videos (YouTube): videos are only loaded from YouTube (using its privacy-enhanced mode, youtube-nocookie.com) after you press play. At that point YouTube receives technical information such as your IP address and is governed by Google’s privacy policy. The video thumbnails you see before pressing play are stored on this website.
  • Unreached of the Day: the box on the home page is supplied by Joshua Project (joshuaproject.net) and loads when the page is viewed; its provider receives technical information such as your IP address.
  • WhatsApp and email links: if you click them, you leave this site and the service you open applies its own policy.
  • Email delivery, newsletters and hosting: our hosting company (DreamHost, United States) and our email service (Brevo, a company based in France) process the data needed to run the site and to send messages and newsletters on our behalf. Newsletter sign-ups, and event registrants whom we email about that event, are stored in our Brevo account. Every newsletter contains an unsubscribe link. Some of these providers are located outside your country.

Who can see your information

Your details are seen only by MANI team members and coordinators who need them to answer you, run an event or send the newsletter, and by the service providers named above. We never sell personal information. We may share it if the law requires us to.

How long we keep it

  • Contact messages and prayer requests: up to 24 months, then deleted.
  • Event registrations: up to 12 months after the event.
  • Newsletter details: until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, limit how we use it, or stop sending you the newsletter. Where we rely on your consent you may withdraw it at any time. Write to info@maniafrica.com and we will answer within 30 days. If you are unhappy with our answer you may complain to the data protection authority in your country.

Moving information across borders

MANI works across Africa and around the world, so the people who handle your message, and the services we use, may be in other countries. We use only what is needed and ask our providers to protect it.

Children

This website is not aimed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has sent us details, please tell us and we will delete them.

Security

We protect the site and its stored messages with access controls, secure connections (HTTPS) and regular updates. No website can promise absolute security, so please avoid sending highly sensitive details through the forms.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and the date below.
