Dr. Mario Li Hing
Mario Li Hing serves as the MANI Regional Coordinator for the Indian Ocean. He is the Director of Scripture Union Indian Ocean-Africa and Chairman of the Fellowship of Christian Churches in Mauritius. He is also serving as the Executive Board Chairman of the Africa Evangelical Alliance. Ordained in 1979, he is currently the Senior Pastor of the Community Evangelical Church and Chaplain of the Chagos Refugees Group, a displaced people group living in exile in Mauritius for more than 40 years.
He has been greatly involved in coordinating many ministries and events at national level. These include the AD2000 Movement & Beyond, Global Mission 95 of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, March For Jesus 1996-2000, the translation of the JESUS film in Mauritian Creole in 1998 as well as that of the Children’s version in 2003,
He also led national/regional delegations for GCOWE 95 - Korea, GCOWE 97 - South Africa, Amsterdam 2000, the Africa Millennial Consultation - Jerusalem 2001, Major Events Briefing - Manchester 2002, ACE-ARENA 2003 - Greece, MANI 2006 - Kenya and the Africa Prayer Summit 2006 & 2007 - South Africa.
He has participated in several networks/gatherings namely the Great Commission Roundtable, Lausanne Committee for World Evangelization, World Inquiry, the Transform World Movement, KidsGames/Major Sports Event Partnership, Strategic Sports Partnership…
Trained in Management & Marketing and a certified counsellor, he holds a diploma in Counselling & Psychology, a degree in Theology and a doctorate in Divinity.
